Memory Cards / Solid State Drives (SSD)

Various types of memory cards including SD cards, microSD cards, and a small SD card with a SIM card, all placed on a white surface.

SSD are a modern kind of digital storage device that uses flash memory. Unlike the older HDD, they don’t have magnetic or moving parts. Because the data on them is transferred electronically rather than mechanically, they are fast, quiet and more reliable than HDD. Some high end video cameras record straight to SSD to make use of their faster write speeds.
