Converters & Tubes

A converter is a device that sits between a camera and a lens. There are three main kinds of converters: adapters, speed boosters and teleconverters.

An adapter allows lenses of different brands to be used together. A speed booster also adapts one lens mount to another, while also reducing the focal length and increasing the maximum aperture. A teleconverter does the opposite, increasing the focal length and decreasing the maximum aperture.
